FARMINGTON, NM—MAY 13, 2012—Sent to post as the 2-5 favorite in a field of eight, Aint Eye Kool responded with a victory in the $21,878 Pfizer Sunray Starter Allowance Challenge at SunRay Park on Sunday.
Aint Eye Kool covered his 350-yard trip in :17.377 while earning a 90 speed index and defeating runner-up A Game by three-quarters of a length. Esgar Ramirez rode the 4-year-old gray gelding by First N Kool for owner David P. Alaniz and trainer Roberto Sanchez.
Aint Eye Kool was bred in Texas by James Allen. The gelding's sire, First N Kool, is a 12-year-old son of 1987 world champion and all-time leading sire First Down Dash who won the 2003 Sam Houston Derby (G2) at Sam Houston Race Park.
First N Kool's top runners include Kool Angel, the winner of last year's $135,616 Sunland Park Winter Derby (G3), and Kool Cowboy, the runner-up to West Coast Hawk in the 2010 Kindergarten Futurity (G1) at Los Alamitos. The stallion is owned by Chad Hart and stands for a $2,000 fee at Hart Farms at Kaplan, Louisiana.

All told, Aint Eye Kool has won five of 23 races – including two of three outs this season – and has earned $46,682. The gelding's victory on Sunday also earned him a berth in the 350-yard, $75,000 Pfizer Starter Allowance Challenge Championship at Prairie Meadows on October 27.
Redneck Chivato finished third, one length behind Aint Eye Kool, and was followed by Zoomin Fool, My AC Chico, Dreams Fly Bye, C For Corona, and Dennz Express.
A 5-year-old sorrel gelding by Corona Cartel, A Game races for San Gregorio Racing Stable Inc. from the barn of Danny Montes. A Game has won one of 14 starts and has banked $35,450, and he was a finalist in the 2010 AQHA California Derby Challenge at Los Alamitos.
Redneck Chivato is an 8-year-old son of Dash To Chivato owned and trained by Mauro Aguirre. The gelding has won four of his 20 outs and has earned $32,391.
Completing the field were Zoomin Fool, My Ac Hico, Dreams Fly Bye, C For Corona and Dennz Express.
