SUNLAND PARK, NM—MARCH 31, 2013—All About Larry rebounded with a superlative effort to win the $63,090 Red Cell New Mexico Distance Challenge(G3) by an expanding 4 lengths on Easter Sunday at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino.
The 2012 AQHA distance champion redeemed himself from a fourth place showing in the trials held on March 8. In the finale, All About Larry was all business and broke powerfully from the #1 post position. Under jockey Salvador Martinez, the six-year-old Arizona-bred son of Heza Motor Scooter battled furiously for the early lead along with Stray Cat and the favorite Dm Streakn Thru Fire.
All About Larry skimmed the rail coming off the turn and began to assert his dominance at the top of the lane. The 9-5 second favorite was a length in front in mid-stretch and extended the margin to 4 lengths at the wire.
