HOUSTON, TX—APRIL 19, 2013—Lets Get Silk made her first win the most important one in her nine race career as she captured the top qualifying time to the Bank of America Maiden Challenge at Sam Houston Race Park.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from four trial races of AQHA Racing Challenge enrolled maidens, at time of nomination, will return to the Houston raceway on May 4th and vie for the winner's share of an $18,000-added purse.

Lets Get Silk broke sharp in the first trial under jockey Ricardo Aguirre and drove to a half-length win over Ms Jesse Belle to get the top qualifying mark of :17.978 seconds over the 350 yard course.

It was the first win for the Silvia Robles 3-year-old daughter of Mr Jess Berry from the Stoli mare Lets Get Fiscal. Abel Morin conditions the sorrel miss who is a combined 1-4-1 record and earnings of just under $6,000. Bred in Texas by Ricardo Aguirre, Lets Get Silk's sire and dam sire are half-brothers, both from the Champion All American Futurity winner Strawberry Silk, by *Beduino (TB).

The lightly raced 8-year-old The Posse got his first win in six starts by one length in the second trial. Ridden by Damian Martinez, the Separatist gelding covered the course in the second fastest clocking of :17.997. Angel Sanchez trains The Posse for owner Gustavo Grimaldo. Bred in California by Rod MacPherson, Jr., the brown gelding is out of Classic Sassy Chic, by A Classic Dash.

Also breaking her maiden was Down For A Fortune, a 3-year-old Down N Dash filly out of Separatist Fortune, by Separatist. Guy Hopkins saddled the Texas homebred for Pete Scarmardo. Ridden by Luis Ramirez, the sorrel miss set the third fastest time of :18.048 seconds.
