KENNEWICK, WA—MAY 3, 2015—Mike and Sherry Reardon's homebred Flyin Lion defeated Lil Touch Of Dixie by half-a-length Sunday afternoon in the $20,700 Sun Downs Bonus Challenge Stakes at Sun Downs. Alota Action finished a head back in third.
Ridden by jockey Jose Figueroa, Flyin Lion covered the 400 yards in a quick :19.900 seconds to earn a 102 speed index. Jose Sanguino conditions the 5-year-old Panther Mountain mare out of Flaming Cynthia, by Rocket's Magic.
Juan Leon saddled Lil Touch Of Dixie to her second place effort for owners Jaime Leon and Martinlano Leon. David McBride bred the multiple stakes winning daughter of Sixthirteen (TB) out of Lover Cat, by Hawkinson. Ridden by Kassie Guglielmino, the Oregon-bred earned $4,140.
Alota Actions is a multiple stakes-placed daughter of Grade 1 sire Quick Action (TB) from the Dash Thru Traffic mare Alota Traffic. Bred in California by Stanley Watikins, Alota Action is owned by Juan Jose Romo and trained by Ernesto Olmos. Edwin Pena had the riding assignment. The 7-year-old earned $2,070 for her effort.
Sneakin Bye, Patty Okey, Angel Eyez, Glitteratti, An American Cartel and Ivory Bell completed the field.
