HOUSTON, TX—APRIL 27, 2017—Donnie E. Johnson’s Eaglelistic, a graded stakes placed son of Flyingwitheagles trained by Cody Reynolds, is one of 21 3-year-olds entered in Saturday’s 400-yard Adequan Texas Derby Challenge trials at Sam Houston Race Park.

Eaglelistic is coming off of a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Wild Mares Milk, in the April 1, 400-yard West Texas Derby (G3) at Sunland Park. An earner of $79,388 from 10 outs, the sorrel gelding drew post 2 and will be ridden by Jesse Levario in the last of three trials.

Other prominent sophomores entered in Saturday’s trials include Tac My Time, a son of Tac It Like A Man owned by Marco X. Ramirez and Gary W. Harstack and the morning-line choice in the second heat. Trained by Leon Bard, the gelding will be making his season debut off of a 2-year-old campaign during which he scored a neck victory at odds of 12-1 in the 330-yard, $50,000 Sam Houston Juvenile Invitational Stakes.

Francisco Calderon will ride Tac My Time from the rail post.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the May 20, $35,000-added Adequan Texas Derby Challenge final.
