Pa Cha Ching Sets Top Mark in John Deere Retama Park Juvenile Trials
Pa Cha Ching, under jockey Eddie Sanchez, clocked the fastest time from four trials Saturday night for the John Deere Juvenile Challenge at Retama Park.

SELMA, TX—JULY 27, 2019—Coming off a second-place effort in the Grade 2 Sam Houston Futurity, the lightly raced Pa Cha Ching won the last of four trials Saturday night to the John Deere Juvenile Challenge at Retama Park. The Tempting Dash colt's time of :17.771 seconds, a 95 speed index into a 10 mph headwind, was the quickest of the night.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Retama Park Saturday, August 17th to vie for the winners share of a $25,000-added purse as well earn a starting spot in the $100,000-est. John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2) on Saturday, October 25th in Albuquerque.

Racing for owner-breeder Pat Allen, Pa Cha Ching has compiled a (3) 2-1-0 record and banked $77,452 this season. Eddie Sanchez had the riding call for trainer Jose Luis Sanchez III. Pa Cha Ching is out of the Jody O Toole mare Toole N Round.

Runner-up Hes El Martillo, a son of leading first-crop sire Hes Relentless, held on to the second fastest clocking of :17.809 seconds, an 94 speed index. Alfredo Triana conditions the bay gelding for owner Rancho La Cobra.

David and Meg Brown bred Hes El Partillo in Texas from the Valiant Hero mare Fire Burning. He has placed in five of six starts and earned $11,068 and was a finalist in the Grade 2 Firecracker Futurity at Delta Downs.

Heza Forever Lucky, a colt by first-crop sire Heza Fast Rogue, was third in that trial to get the third fastest time of :18.124 seconds. The lightly raced 2-year-old bobbled the break under jockey Alejandro Medina. Roberto Madrigal trains the bay colt for owner Estevan Saenz. Tonya Martin bred Heza Forever Lucky in Louisiana from the Game Patriot mare Forever Game.
