ALTOONA, IA—AUGUST 27, 2010—Prairie Meadows kicked off two nights of Challenge races on Friday evening with the John Deere Juvenile, Red Cell Distance Challenge and Pfizer Starter Allowance.
Saturday night the track will play host to the Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge (G2), Adequan Prairie Meadows Derby Challenge and the Merial Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge.
Fastest Qualifier Returns to Win John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile
Toni and Lloyd Yother's home-bred A Plain Brown Rapper scored an impressive victory in the $45,990 John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile on Friday evening. The gelded son of A Regal Choice completed the 350 yards in :17.526 to win by 2 ½ lengths and set a new Prairie Meadows John Deere stakes record.
The winner's purse of $21,155 was just the icing on the cake as the William Harris trainee also earned an invite to the $150,000 John Deere Juvenile Championship(G2) to be run November 19th as part of the Bank of America Challenge Championship Night at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans.
Larry Payne was on board for the gelding's third straight victory in four career starts. After breaking his maiden by three lengths at Canterbury Park, A Plain Brown Rapper won scored a one length victory in the John Deere trials on August 13th.
Long-shot Chicks Clever Way surprised with a game finish to pick-up the place check of $9,198. The Granite Lake gelding owned by Ken and Reba George is trained by Lloyd Moreland and ridden by Cody Smith.
Trickham finished a neck back in third for owner Martin Stacy. Brent Clay saddled the Royal Blue Chew Chew gelding to earn $4,599. Storm Smith was in the saddle.
Completing the field were Talking Jess, followed with a dead-heat between Betty Jess B and Dosvedanya, then came Redneck Sis, La Jolla Cowgirl, Emmettcito and Wrs Have Look.
Lefty Ray Holds Off Stone E Motion to Win Red Cell Distance Challenge
Tony Donaho's home-bred Lefty Ray dueled all out and held off a game Stone E Motion to win the $25,110 Red Cell Prairie Meadows Distance Challenge on Friday night.

Loyd Moreland saddled Lefty Ray with Matthew Casebolt getting the riding assignment and picking up the winner's purse of $13.057.
Multiple Remington Park stakes winner Stone E Motion finished second for owner Lori Harris. The former pony horse is trained by William Harris and was ridden by William Ives. The 5-year-old Sc Chiseled In Stone gelding earned $5,775.
De Passem Okey was a half-length back n third for owner Steve Holt. Trained by Rodney Reed and ridden by G.R. Cater, Jr., the Okey Dokey Dale 4-year-old earned $2,888.
Completing the field were Street Meter and Hay Willie B Fast.
Sc Captivator Returns to Take Pfizer Prairie Meadows Starter Allowance
Wade Siegel and Don Boyle's Sc Captivator is expected to be a favorite in New Orleans on November 19th for the $75,000 Guaranteed Pfizer Starter Allowance Championship after crushing a field of 10 in the Pfizer Prairie Meadows Starter on Friday evening.

Ridden by Larry Payne, the William Harris trainee completed the 350 yards in :17.865 seconds to earn the winner's purse of $10,350.
Wade Siegel bred the brown gelding in California from the First Down Dash mare Oh Bobbette.
Racehorse Inc's First Shazoom put in a game effort to finish second, earning $4,500. Saddled by Glen Atkison, the Shazoom 4-year-old was ridden by Randy Edison.
A nose back in third, Stoli Signature picked up $2,250 for owner/trainer Robert Howard Dimitt. Daniel Rose was aboard the Stoli 5-year-old.
Completing the field were Struttin Whiz, Boola Ka Haw, Holland North, Shezrightonthemoney, Sheza Titleist and Hell Roarin.
