Rillito Park Hosts Two Trials For John Deere Juvenile Today

TUCSON, AZ—MARCH 1, 2020—Thirteen Challenge-Enrolled 2-year-olds will make their racing debut today (Sunday) in two trials for the John Deere Rillito Park Juvenile at Rillito Park. First post is set for 1:30 p.m. (MST). The trials will be run as Races 7 and 8.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Sunday, March 22nd to vie for the winner's share of $30,000-added purse as well as garner the first spot in the 2020 Grade 2 $125,000-est. John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G1) to be contested October 24th at Albuquerque Downs.

Seven of the 13 2-year-olds slated to race in the John Deere trails are summer sale graduates.

Cc Revv Her, a daughter of leading sire Corona Cartel from the First Down Dash mare Revv It Up, will head the first trial for owner Jose Mendoza and trainer Eloy. Navarro. Jockey Luis Valenzuela will ride the $41,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate from post 5.

Also a Ruidoso Sale All Red No Blue, graduate owned by Mendoza and trained by Navarro, will start from post 4. The son of champion sire Apollitical Blood is out of First Prize Paris by Mr Jess Perry.

Mendoza and Navarro team again In Race 8 with Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate Wagon of Speed. Kevin Carbajal will ride the $30,000 son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon from the outside post. Wagon Of Speed is out of the Duel Fuel mare Significant Speed.
