RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 28, 2020—The Legend Stone, a stakes-winning son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon owned by Rancho La Cobra, will make his sophomore season debut in Saturday’s 400-yard Adequan Ruidoso Derby Challenge trials at Ruidoso Downs.

The Legend Stone will be making his first start since October 19, when the colt ran third, one length behind winner Dynast C, in a 400-yard Texas Classic Futurity (G1) trial at Lone Star Park. The Legend Stone has earned $48,725 from seven starts, and his three wins include a three-quarter length victory in last year’s $71,000 John Deere Retama Park Juvenile Challenge.

The Legend Stone drew post 5 and will be ridden by James Flores for trainer Juan Martin Triana in the first of two trials.

A total of 20 3-year-olds are entered in Saturday’s trials. The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the August 15, $60,000-added Adequan Ruidoso Derby Challenge final.
