CLAREMORE, OK—OCTOBER 4, 2020—In a wire-to-wire win, fastest qualifier Jess My Hocks defeated Juice Is Loose by 3-½ lengths in the $40,766 Adequan® Will Rogers Derby Challenge Sunday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs.

Ridden by jockey Mario Delgado, Jess My Hocks broke on top and extended his lead throughout while stopping the clock in :19.417 seconds, earning a 108 speed index into a 5 mph headwind for the 400 yards.

Trainer Michelle Hurdle saddled the Oklahoma homebred to his sixth career win in 11 starts for owner-breeders Tom and Kathleen McNally. The $18,752 winner's purse boosted the son of leading second-crop sire Kiss My Hocks earning mark to $115,142.

Out of the Take Off Jess mare Jess Charlena, Jess My Hocks was third in the Black Gold 440 Championship at 2 and a finalist in the Heritage Place Derby(G2) and the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Derby(RG2) this year.

Today's win also guarantee's Jess My Hocks a starting spot in the $150,000-est. Adequan® Derby Challenge Championship(G3) on October 24th during the Bank of America Challenge Championship Night at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Tom Maher and Stephen Williams' Juice Is Loose earned $8,153 for second. Jason Olmstead trains the One Famous Eagle colt out of Miss Southern DD by FDD Dynasty. Sam Green bred the $48,084 earner in Oklahoma.

Mighty B Ivory, under jockey Bonifacio Quiroz, finished a neck back to earn $4,077 for third. Matt Whitekiller trains the son of Mighty B Valiant for owner-breeder Norman Hollingsworth. Out of the Ivory James mare Ivory Task, Mighty B Ivory has earned $29,414.
