SOUTH JORDAN, UT—JUNE 17, 2017— If pari-mutuel wagering was legal in Utah, Sb Hoonigan would have been the odds-on favorite in the $68,580 Beehive Futurity at Laurel Brown.

The son of first crop sire Jr Dynasty Mountain won his fourth consecutive race on Saturday and has earned $57,741 since his debut in April. Sb Hoonigan and jockey Santiago Jimenez stopped the clock in 17.433 for the 350-yard race and earned a 105 speed index.

The fastest qualifier to the Beehive Futurity from eight trials held on May 27, Sb Hoonigan also won the $73,885 Hadley/Giles Memorial Futurity at Weber Downs last month.

Sb Hoonigan is a homebred for Steve Berry and is trained by Alvaro Torres. The Utah-bred gelding is out of the Splash Bac mare Be Bac Later.

Third-fastest qualifier Fiery Fury led the rest of the pack and finished second despite a bumped break. Trained by Jere Brinkerhoff and owned by Kim Sweeting, Les Sweeting and Jere Brinkerhoff, the 2-year-old gelding lost for the first time in three starts, each with jockey Jesus Canales.

Fiery Fury was bred by Steve Burns DVM in California, by One Sweet Jess, out of Firebaugh Filly by Buzz Word.

Up for third after overcoming a tight break was Mountain Vista, also by Jr Dynasty Mountain. Uriel Dominguez rides and Chancey Spencer trains the filly for owner and breeder Stan Young. Bred in Utah, Mountain Vista is out of the Proudest Effort mare Visual Evidence and has hit the board in each of her three lifetime starts.

Completing the field were, Sb Itty Bitty, Cranky T, Letsgetitonmarvin, Champion Winner, Countmywinns, Jaggersfadedblujeans and Heavys Version.
