Painted Wine Wagon Game Winner in OHA Mystery Futurity

CLAREMORE, OK—NOVEMBER 11, 2017—Painted Wine Wagon, under jockey Jimmy D. Brooks, went wire-to-wire in a neck victory over fastest qualifier Pv Queen Bee Candy in Saturday $196,982 Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Mystery Futurity at Will Rogers Downs. The Valiant One finished half-a-length back for third.

Painted Wine Wagon, a 2-year-old daughter of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon, completed the 350 yards in :17.587 seconds, a 94-speed index into a 13-mph crosswind.

Trained Eddie D. Willis saddled the brown filly to her third win, in seven starts this season, for owner Larry Rice. A finalist in the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs in July, Painted Wine Wagon took home $79,257 for today's victory.

Bred in Oklahoma by Flag Ranch LLC, from the Mr Jess Perry mare Mr Perrys Wine, the brown filly has earned $155,479.

Trainer Clinton Crawford conditions runner-up Pv Queen Bee Candy for owner/breeder Gordon Pevehouse. The daughter of first crop sire Cartels Candy Man earned $36,141 to the effort to bring her bankroll total to $15,635.

Already a stakes winner in the FL Lady Bug Stakes at Remington Park in May, the brown filly was also third in the Valley Junction Futurity at Prairie Meadows last month. Omar Reyes was aboard the Oklahoma-bred from the Okey Dokey Dale mare Ima Lazie Too.

Trainer R.L. Rick Robinson saddled third-place finisher The Valiant One for owner Darling Farms. Bob and Jerry Gaston bred the Valiant Hero gelding in Oklahoma from the Mr Jess Perry mare Jessa Leaving You. Ridden by jockey Edwuin Lujan, The Valiant One earned $23,927 for the effort.

Express Tran No 9, Peves Candy Man Dan, Flashy Concho, Unconquerable, Ivory Trader, Audi Murphi and Furrget Mot completed the field.
