Krash Your Party Wins Jake Kapp Memorial Through Disqualification

OGDEN, UT—MAY 19, 2018—Easy Ap Bella battled Krash Your Party down the outside rail from the gate in Saturday's $19,280 Jake Kapp Memorial (not black type) at Weber Downs, getting her head in front at the wire.

Under jockey Oscar Cervantes Easy Ap Bella drifted in and bumped the #7 horse, Dust Stone, causing the track stewards to take the Apollitical Jess filly's number down, placing her sixth.

Krash Your Party, ridden by jockey Raymundo Torres, was awarded the win after completing the 350 yards in a quick :17.780 seconds, a 99 speed index into a 5 mph headwind.

Ricardo Castillo conditions the 3-year-old son of second-crop sire Krash Cartel from the Brimmerton mare Hasta La Veesta. Owned by BNB Racing, Inc., Krash Your party picked up $8,869 to boost his earnings mark to nearly $30,000.

Winner of the South Valley Futurity at Laurel Brown last year, the brown gelding was bred in Texas by Triple K Farms. He has compiled a (11) 2-2-3 record.

Fastest qualifier Kool Odds, a game third by a head in the blanket finish, was moved up to second. Mark Hanson conditions the son of multiple stake sire Favorite Cartel for owner Hanson Racing LLC and Robin Dunn. Steve Burns, DVM bred the brown colt in California form the Chicks Beduino mare Kool Kue Chick. The $3,856 Jake Kapp runner-up purse brings his earnings to $9,341.

One Hot Party, a California-bred daughter of Stel Corona was moved to third. Trainer Alvaro Torres saddled the sorrel filly for owner Jon Lane Henderson. Bred by Allred and Siebly, One Hot Party earned $1,928. Santiago Jimenez was riding.

Completing the official order of finish were Mr Soul, Dust Stone, Easy Ap Bella, Winners Runaway, Girl Like, Pf Paddy Dashair and Tp Tipster.
