Live Moonshine Best In Will Rogers' Green Country Handicap

CLAREMORE, OK—OCTOBER 13, 2019—Multiple stakes winner Live Moonshine raced to a one-length win over Rp Live Wire Dash in the $12,500 Green Country Handicap for paints and appaloosas Sunday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs.

Ridden by jockey Cody Smith, Live Moonshine completed the 350 yards in :17.679 seconds, equaling a 92 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind. It was the seventh win in 14 career starts for the son of CRM Livewire. The $7,500 winners' purse boosted his bankroll total to nearly $150,000.

Matt Whitekiller conditions the 3-year-old gelding for owner/breeders Dan and Kay Jones. Bred in Texas, Live Moonshine is out of the Awesome Chrome mare Prp Sedona Sunset.

Rp Live Wire Dash, also a son of CRM Livewire, earned $2,500 for his second-place effort. Also a multiple stakes winner, the bay gelding races for owner/breeder Roy Kent Perkins and is trained by Ray Enlow. Justin Klaiber was aboard the Texas-bred from the Reckless Dash mare Rp Miss Reckless Dash. He has earned $133,501.

Almada Racing's multiple stakes winner Dtl Samureye finished a neck back to earn $1,463 for third. Josue Ponce saddled the 4-year-old son of SF Royal Quick Flash from the Mr Eye Opener mare Eysa Savvy Queen. Bred in Oklahoma by Dean and Tonya Lester, Dtl Samyreye has earned $151,208. Agustin Silva had the riding call.

Moores Rock Flash and Ruthies Hotrod completed the field. The Last Union was scratched.
