Cir Lady Moon Dominates Isaws Sugar Bear Stakes at Sweetwater Downs

ROCK SPRINGS, WY–OCTOBER 2, 2022–Cir Lady Moon easily defeated a field of eight other 3-year-olds and up Sunday when she posted a half-length victory in the $16,350 Isaws Sugar Bear Stake at Sweetwater Downs.

Under jockey Shaunda Larsen, Cir Lady Moon completed the 400 yard task in :19.656 seconds, equaling a 105 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind. It was the fourth win in seven starts this year for the daughter of champion Moonin The Eagle.

Trainer Jess Matt conditions the 4-year-old Utah-bred filly, from the Mark My Dial mare Cir Mark Of A Queen, for owners Lee and Carol Daniel. Bred by the Gary Robison Estate, Cir Lady Moon earned $8,175 to push her bankroll to $27,125.

Honey Butte, under jockey Kody Kellenberger, was up for second to earn $4,088 for owner Bill Doenz. Josh Taylor trains the New Mexico bred daughter of world champion sire FDD Dynasty from the Mr Jess Perry mare Heading Home. Rafter W Stables bred the stakes-placed earner of $25,035.

Wyoming Downs Derby winner Suzes Dynasty showed late interest to finish a neck behind her stablemate for third.  Also trained by Taylor and owned by Doenz, the FDD Dynasty  3-year-old was ridden by jockey Jesus Valenzuela. The post time favorite was bred in Oklahoma by Flag Ranch LLC from the Me Eye Opener mare Brown Eye Suze.

Dashing Illusions, A Trace Of Lane, Transpiring, No Bikini Required, Jess Glock and No One Fights Alone completed the field.
