Third-Crop Sire Whathaveigottado Gets First Stakes Winner

VINTON, LA—MAY 12, 2018—Grade 3 winner and third-crop sire Whathaveigottado got his first stakes winner Friday night when Im For Real won the $283,715 Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity (RG2) Friday night at Delta Downs.

Under jockey Gudalupe Luciano, Jr., Im For Real bumped at the start but rallied to complete the 330 yards in :16.671 seconds, a 101 speed index, winning by a neck. It was the first win in four career starts for 2-year-old filly.

Trainer Josue Huitron saddled the winner for owner/breeder Dale Rogers. Bred from the Dash Plays On mare Imnotplaying, Im For Real has compiled a (4) 1-1-1 record and banked $145,921.

From limited starters in three crops to race, Whathaveigottado has sired 13 winners, 1 stakes winners with earnings of $13,247 and average earnings per starter of more than $13,200.

His top performers include Im For Real SI 101 (stakes winner above), Ubalon SI 95 (2 wins to 4, $42,589), Iknowwhattodo SI 93 (2 wins to 3, $30,675), Igottarampage SI 90 (Winner at 2, 2018, $27,253, finalist RG2 Mardi Gras Futurity), Igottaadios SI 95 (3 wins to 4, $22,581), etc. Whathaveigottado, a son of leading sire Shazoom, won or placed in 15 starts and earned $157,747. He won the Sunland Park Winter Derby(G3) and was second in the Hialeah Laddie Futurity and third in the West Texas Maturity(G2). He was also a finalist in the Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby and RG1 Sooner State Stakes.

The gray stallion is out of two-time AQHA Racing Champion Filly Strawberry Silk SI 105 by *Beduino (TB). Strawberry Silk won 11 of 17 starts, banking $1,266,263, while winning the All American Futurity(G1), Sun Country Futurity(G1), Rainbow Futurity(G1) and Kanas Futurity(G1).
