Coronado Cartel sired his first Grade 1 winner on Saturday when Blue Corazon won the $1-million Ruidoso Futurity(G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

GUTHRIE, OK—JUNE 10, 2018—Just eight-days ago first-crop sire Coronado Cartel sired his first stakes winner when 2-year-old Fly N Tell won the $50,000 Easy Jet Stakes(RG3) at Remington Park. Today the son of leading sire Corona Cartel stepped up his game when his second stakes winner Blue Corazon scored an impressive win in the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity, giving the young stallion his first Grade 1 winner.

A $30,000 Heritage Place September Yearling Sale graduate, Blue Corazon raced to a half-length win in the Ruidoso Futurity(G1) to bank $420,000. Undefeated in two starts the gray colt races for owner Newman Cattle Company and trainer Rodolfo Valles. Raul Ramirez, Jr. had the riding call aboard the Corner K Quarter Horses LLC Arkansas-bred. Blue Corazon is out of the Takin On The Cash mare Bye Bye Baby Goodbye.
