HOUSTON, TX—OCTOBER 29, 2024—Nominations to the Grade 2 $450,000-est. Sam Houston Futurity and the Grade 3 $200,000-est. Sam Houston Derby is due Sunday, December 15th.

The Sam Houston Race Park Quarter Horse Meet will begin on April 18 and run through June 14. Racing will be conducted on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings beginning at 6:30 p.m. (CDT). Race dates subject to TRC approval.

The Sam Houston Futurity trials will be contested for the first time at a distance of 350 on Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24. The final for the $150,000 added race will be run back at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, June 14th.

Horsemen may nominate American Quarter Horse foals of 2023 by paying a nomination fee of $150 on or before Sunday, December 15th.

Quarter Horse foals of 2022 may be nominated to the Sam Houston Derby on or before Sunday, December 15th, for $150.

The Sam Houston Derby trials will be increased to 400 yards on Thursday, May 22nd, and the final will be run back at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, June 14th.
