PCQHRA Postpones 2024 Awards Banquet, Board Meeting

LOS ALAMITOS, CA–JANUARY 9, 2025–The Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Racing Association announced this morning that it is postponing its 2024 awards banquet originally scheduled for Friday, January 24 at Los Alamitos Race Course. The PCQHRA Board Annual Meeting, which would have also been held that evening, will be rescheduled as well.

A new date for the PCQHRA Awards Banquet will be announced after all purses for stakes races held at the recently concluded Los Alamitos meet are paid out. The awards committee will then meet and vote to select the winners in more than 20 different categories.

"The Board and Awards Committee feel that it’s very important that we get the year-end awards correct and that’s the main reason for this postponement," said PCQHRA President Vince Genco. "As soon as we get verification from the racing jurisdiction, we will make our decision on new dates for these events."

The American Quarter Horse Association has also postponed indefinitely its Champions Selection Committee voting and awards ceremony, which are typically held in January, due to purses for other key stakes races yet to be released.
