Record-Setting Quarter Horse Trainers Charged With Additional Drug Positives
PAULICK REPORT–FEBRUARY 4, 2025–Toby Keeton, who set an all-time single season earnings record for U.S. Quarter Horse trainers in 2024, has received a second summary suspension from the Texas Racing Commission, alleging 23 horses under his care had positive drug tests for Class 1A substances carmoterol and d-methamphetamine during the Lone Star Park meeting last fall.
On Monday, the Texas Racing Commission posted an additional ruling against Juan Diaz, alleging he had 25 more positive tests for carmoterol at Lone Star Park from Sept. 7-Nov. 9, 2024.
