AQHA Racing Challenge Stakes Doubleheader Set for Saturday at Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MARCH 28, 2025–Two graded stakes from the AQHA Racing Challenge program headline Saturday's 12-race program at Remington Park.

Eight aged runners are entered in Saturday's 440-yard, $60,000-added AQHA Remington Championship Challenge (G2). The winner of this race will earn a berth in the October 18 AQHA Challenge Championship (G1) at Albuquerque Downs.

Bradbury Racing's Nothin Like You, a homebred 6-year-old son of Favorite Cartel trained by John Hammes, will be making his first start since October 26, when he ran second, a neck behind winner Shakers No Secret, in the 440-yard, $278,000 AQHA Racing Challenge Championship (G1) The Colorado-bred gelding drew post 6 and will be ridden by Miguel J. Ramirez.

Other contenders include William Harned's Mystic Paint, an Oklahoma-bred 4-year-old Pyc Paint Your Wagon stallion trained by Jason Olmstead. Mystic Paint made his season debut with a second-place finish, three-quarters of a length from winner Ima Fancy Eye Opener, in the March 9, 250-yard Mighty Deck Three Stakes (RG2) for state-breds at Remington Park. Mystic Paint ended his sophomore campaign with a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Frankie Jr, in the October 26, $167,000 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G3) at Albuquerque Downs.

Mystic Paint drew post 5 and will be ridden by Ramiro Garcia.

Also on Saturday, O Donovan Rossa drew post 3 for the first start of his 7-year-old season, the 870-yard, $30,000-added Q-Racing Video Remington Distance Challenge (G2).

Trained by Dee Keener for owner Kelly Yother Equine LLC, O Donovan Rossa ended his '24 campaign with a third-place run in the October 26, $119,000 AQHA Distance Challenge Championship (G1). The 7-year-old Apollitical Jess gelding has won eight of his 17 races at the 870 trip, and his two wins at the distance at last year's Remington meet included the Grade 2 Pauls Valley Stakes.

O Donovan Rossa drew post 3 and will be ridden by Roman Cruz.

Rockin J Running Horses' Rock Ya Later ended his 2024 season with a wire-to-wire, half-length victory in the December 15, 870-yard King Rick Rack Stakes (G2) at Zia Park in New Mexico. Tammy Johnson trains the 5-year-old Rock Solid Jess gelding.

Rock Ya Later drew post 5 and will be ridden by Ali Rivera.
