The race day begins with the 5th edition of the Battle Of The Breeds at 770 yards, pitting Quarter Horses versus Thoroughbreds, and two of the entrants on Sunday have already won Battle races.

Jess A Deal, who holds the track record for 770 yards from her victory on May 29, is the 8 to 5-morning line favorite for owners Marie Broadstock and Picov Cattle Co. Ramiro Castillo will ride.

Azures Royalty, winner of the first Battle of the Breeds, competes for owner Magen Fennessy, while Makin an Effort and Ice Cream Cartel will get their first attempts around a turn.
