The 2024 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale will be held August 30-31 in the Ruidoso Horse Sales' Pavilion at Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico.

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM–AUGUST 29, 2024–All American Ruidoso Horse Sale Company will kick-off's its annual Ruidoso Select QH Yearling Sale on Friday at 4:00 p.m. (MDT)

The sale normally runs Friday through Sunday; however, due to unprecedented events beginning with the deadly South Fork and Salt fires and repeated flooding through the fire-damaged areas, officials had no options but to move the remainder of the racing season to the Downs at Albuquerque.

The industry's leading Quarter Horse racing sale will remain in Ruidoso Downs. It will be conducted as two sessions (Friday and Saturday) at the Ruidoso Downs Sales Pavilion east of the racetrack at 100 N. Joe Welch Road.

"This should allow horsemen and racing fans to spend Friday and Saturday at the horse sales and return to Albuquerque in time for the major races on Monday," Sale Manager Walt Wiggins said.

The entire All American stakes series will be contested on Labor Day (Sep. 2) (see related story) this year.

Last year's sale grossed over $27.4 million and averaged $79,735 per head.

The opening session, featuring Hips 1 through 212, will be sold on Friday, and the second session, featuring Hips 213 through 425, will be held on Saturday. The sale will begin at 4:00 p.m. (MDT) on both days.

Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale Online Bidding

Online bidding for the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale will be offered by DVAuction. Prospective buyers who want to bid online for the upcoming sale must do two things: 

1. Create an Account
2. Complete and email an Online Bidder Application

To create an account, go to www.dvauction.com and click the "Create New Account" Tab. Follow all the instructions, complete the online form, and verify your email. For online registration questions, call DVAuctions at (402) 316-5460.

All American Horse Sales Company must approve potential bidders for online bidding. CLICK HERE to complete an Online Bidder Application, then email the completed form to wwiggins@raceruidoso.com. All forms must be completed and in the sales office by August 14. Call the sales office at (575) 378-4474 for online bidding approval questions.

On the day of the sale, go to www.dvauction.com and log in with your username/email and password in the top left-hand corner. Then scroll to the green "view" tab that says Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. This will take you to the sale; follow the instructions on how to bid.

Online bidding will be available at the start of the sale each day, which begins promptly at 4:00 (MDT).
