ROCK SPRINGS, WY–SEPTEMBER 14, 2024–Moon Em N Dash raced to a neck win over Tm Lets Go Brandon to get his first career stakes win in the $51,100 John Whipp Memorial Derby at Sweetwater Downs.

Jockey Jarred Journet guided the altered son of multiple stakes sire Brindis Por Cayenne over 350 yards in 17.633 seconds, equaling an 89-speed index.

Jess Matt saddled the 3-year-old gelding to his fifth career win in 14 starts for owners Stephanie and James Ferguson. Bred in Wyoming by Waler Larson, from the Apollo (TB) mare Dashmetothemoon, Moon Em N Dash earned $20,440 to boost this earnings to $45,528.

Runner-up Tm Lets Go Brandon earned $10,220 for finishing second. Owner-trainer Kevin Williams named Juan Rivas to ride the Docs Fast Prize gelding out of Wow Another Form by Form Ten Ninty. TM Quarter Horses bred the $27,126 earner.

A half-length back Vvr Dianas Angel picked up $5,110 for third. Trainer Diana Garfias named jockey David Alvarez, Jr. to ride the son of What Corona Runner for owner Triple G Racing LLC. Mike Lipp bred the multiple stakes-placed colt from the Spit Curl Jess mare Princess Elsa. He has earned $60,693.

Quickkey Corona, Vvr Velvet Pistols, Flayvorite Trick, Honky Tonk Cd Rockin Da Kas Y O Unstopple Kc, and Y O Zoomin Ollie completed the field.
