GAINESVILLE, TX–NOVEMBER 21,2024–Butch Wise of Solo Select Horses, LLC, announced Thursday that Grade 1 winner Lets Leave will begin his stallion career in 2025 at the Gainesville, Texas facility. His introductory fee for the upcoming breeding season is set at $4,500.

Bred in California by Edward C. Allred, Lets Leave is out of the Walk Thru Fire stakes winning mare Time To Leave. The son of leading sire Favorite Cartel was purchased by, Barron Racing, LLC and Empire Racing, for $122,000 in the 2022 Los Alamitos Equine Sale.

Lets Leave started his race career in April of 2023, breaking maiden in his first of nine starts in the West Texas Futurity trials by 1 1/4-lengths, scoring his highest speed index of 103. He returned to the Grade 2 finals with a solid second-place finish.

In May, the sorrel colt moved to Ruidoso Downs. He clocked the fastest qualifying time on day two to the Ruidoso Futurity-G1 in his third out from 157 horses in 16 trials. He achieved his second career win by an impressive 5 1/2 length margin and clocked the second-fastest overall time to the finals.

In June, Lets Leave won the $1,000,000 Grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity finals from gate-to-wire, earning $420,000 for the effort. At that time, he was the only two-year-old in the nation to earn black type twice in graded stakes for 2023.

Lets Leave ended his two-year-old year with a record of 3-2-0 from five starts and $485,681 in the bank after a second-place attempt in the All American Futurity-G1 trials.

In May of this year, Lets Leave returned to Ruidoso Downs to win his first out of the season in the $832,707 Ruidoso Derby-G1 trials and returned for a spot in the finals where he placed a troubled sixth.

Last month, the multiple Grade 1 horse traveled to Los Alamitos, where he qualified for the $795,000 Los Alamitos Super Derby-G1 and returned to the richest race for three-year-olds and older for a third-place finish in the finals.

Butch Wise stated, “This is one amazing individual conformationally – he possesses show-stopper good looks, and being a Grade 1 winner at Ruidoso and now Grade 1 placed at Los Alamitos, his credentials for a stallion prospect are truly impeccable. From a breeder’s perspective, with Favorite Cartel as his sire and his first two dams being by Walk Thru Fire and Raise A Secret, his pedigree will be greatly attractive to owners of mares by Corona Cartel, Mr Jess Perry, Apollitical Jess, PYC Paint Your Wagon, Valiant Hero and several other leading maternal grandsires.”

His sire, Favorite Cartel SI 104 ($607,669), is the #1 leading sire in the nation and a Grade 1 winner. From 10 crops of racing age, he has sired 123 stakes winners, seven champions and 790 winners with more than $52 million in money earners.
