LOS ALAMITOS, CA—SEPTEMBER 18, 2022—In My Heart got her second stakes win at Los Alamitos Sunday night when she defeated Letty Cartel and Mis Ko, who dead-heated for second, by three-quarters in the $25,000 Go Josie Go Handicap.
In My Heart bumped at the start under jockey Jesus Ayala then edged away from the field to complete the 350 yards in :17.565, a 94 speed index with a 5 mph tailwind. It was the fifth win in 20 starts for the daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess.

Trainer Juan Aleman saddled the Kentucky bred filly for owner-breeder Gentry Farms. She won the Check Her Twice Handicap two starts back and was third in the ARC California Distaff Challenge last month. In My Heart picked up $13,750 for her effort to night to boost her bankroll to $86,729.
Runner-ups Letty Cartel and Ms Ko each earned $4,375 for their second-place effort.
Post time favorite Letty Cartel was off bit slow under jockey Irving Lara. The daughter of Fast Prize Cartel earned $13,750 for owner-breeder EG High Desert Farms. Santos Perez saddled the California bred filly from the Bail Me Out Baby mare Letty Bail Regis Out. She has earned $27,579 in10 starts.
Ms Ko, a daughter of leading sire Corona Cartel, races for owner Norma Cano and is trained by Jesus Nunez. Bumped at the start, the 6-year-old mare out of Whatta Knockout by Walk Thru Fire was ridden by Erasmo Gasca. Erik Flores bred the graded-placed earner of nearly $70,000.
Jess Fortunate, Bizarrely, Budge Buster, Astranomical, Unavailable and Go To Girl completed the field.
