Tempting Dash Colt Sets Fastest Schooling Race Time From 87 Juveniles at Retama Park Wednesday
Andy Knight's home bred Temptedtogotothebar clocked the fastest time from 87 juveniles who made their career debut in 13 schooling races at Retama Park Wednsday.

Tempting Dash Colt Sets Fastest Schooling Race Time From 87 Juveniles at Retama Park Wednesday

SELMA, TX–FEBRUARY 7, 2024–Temptedtogotothebar, a 2-year-old gray son of champion sire Tempting Dash, posted the fastest time over 86 other juveniles who competed in 13 250 yard schooling races on Wednesday at Retama Park.

Trained by Raul Galvan, Temptedtogotothebar was an easy winner over Muddy Hurts in the fourth trial while posting the fasted clocking of :13.91 seconds.

Owner-breeder Andy Knight bred the Tempting Dash colt in Oklahoma from Ynot Now, a Favorite Cartel sister to Charger Bar Handicap(G1) winner Tequila Sangria.  This is the family of champion Quirky.

In the opening race Frasier posted the second fastest time of :13.92 seconds for owner Carrillo Racing and trainer Carlos Camarena. Ivan Martinez rode the This Is An Eagle colt out of Zoom In On Me by Shazoom. This is the family of Texas Classic Futurity(G1) runner-up Bf Neutron Dance.  

Alfredo Garza Rodriguez' Voodoo Child Sc, a $75,000 TQHA Yearling Sale repurchase, posted a :13.96 clocking to win Race 6. Trainer Jose Espinosa named jockey Sabino Reyes to ride the Kiss My Hocks filly.  

Voodoo Child Sc's dam Grey Daze won the TQHA Sale Futurity(RG2) in 2014. Voodoo Child Sc is a sister to Dash For Cash Juvenile winner Greysland.

The only other 2-year-old to break 14 was Ruse Hits, a daughter of Kiddy Up, who won Race 8 in :13.97 seconds. Trainer Frank Ramirez named champion jockey Francisco Calderon to ride the $13,000 TQHA Yearling Sale repurchase for owner Ruse Ranch LLC.  

Ruse Hits is a sister to stakes winner Up And Coming and stakes-placed Rolling Along. This is the family of Grade 1 winners Hot Hitter and Hard Hitting and world champion Freaky.

Juan Diaz Jr. led all trainer with four winners on the card. Frank Ramirez had three, Pedro Lopez saddled three and Jose Espinosa sent out two winners.

First crop sire Chilitos had two winners on the card. He was also joined by leading sires Tempting Dash and Freighttrain B who each posted two winners.
