Post Time Favorite One Fabulous Dynasty Does Not Dissapoint With Victory In The Gillette Derby

GILLETTE, WY–JUNE 9, 2024–8/5 favorite One Fabulous Dynasty gets his fourth consecutive win this season in the $100,000 Gillette Derby at Energy Downs 307 Horse Racing on Sunday.

Kody Kellenburger usually rides One Fabulous Dynasty, but Justin Shepherd got the leg up on today's victory. The duo broke first from the gates and led the field of ten to the wire. He clocked an 87 speed index in :17.794 seconds, running into a 12 mph headwind. The 350-yard victory paid $5.20 to win.

One Fabulous Dynasty ran a good freshman campaign with a victory in the BHS Futurity, second in the Valley Junction Juvenile Stakes, and third in the Energy Downs 307 Open Futurity. But he remains undefeated for his three-year-old season with four wins and two stakes victories, including the Dan Lockie Derby in May at Miles City.

The son of One Fabulous Eagle has lit the board in every out with six career wins, and the $50,000 winner's share of the Gillette Derby purse ups his lifetime earnings to $104,930.

Robert Johnson conditions One Fabulous Dynasty for owners Deanna Anderson and Casey Foster. Bob and Gary Johnson bred the sorrel colt out of Diva Dynasty by FDD Dynasty.

Mark Jasso piloted You Cant Drive 95 to a second-place finish just a neck behind One Fabulous Dynasty. The daughter of You Drive I Fly has three wins and two seconds from seven starts with $70,440 in the bank. Trained by Leonel Gonzalez, she won the Desert Classic Futurity in 2023 and placed second in the Desert Classic Stakes in 2024.

Mercy Hinklins Horse Farm LLC bred You Cant Drive 95 in Oklahoma out of Jdp Straight Shot by Mr Jess Perry. J Lazy Six Racing bought the sorrel filly for $25,000 in the 2022 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Drive, ridden by Cesar Moreno, was bumped early but managed to keep in third to the wire. The daughter of Valiant Hero has lit the board 10 of 11, starts with four career wins and $46,506 in earnings, including the AQHA John Deere Juvenile Challenge finals at Sweetwater Downs in 2023.

Owner/trainer Adrian Zavala purchased Drive for $21,000 in the 2022 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale. She is out of the One Famous Eagle mare, Lil Baby Eagle.

Jr Cowboy Cadillac, Kvn Dulce Corona, Basking, Concealed Karie, Cash 23, Fabulous Miss Bullet and First Prize Grown Go round out the order of finish.
