Bryan Candosa pilots Access Granted to victory in the $76,750 Rocky Mountain Futurity at Arapahoe Park on Sunday.

AURORA, CO–SEPTEMBER 29, 2024–Access Granted got the early lead on the inside and held on for a wire-to-wire win in the $76,750 Rocky Mountain Futurity at Arapahoe Park on Sunday.

Martin Lazalde qualified Access Granted in the trials but chose to ride fastest qualifier Glittr Factory in the finals, who placed third. Jose Barron got the leg up aboard the Access Granted, guiding him to a neck victory over Unbridled Favor and Bryan Candosa.

With 9-2 odds at post-time, Access Granted's 330-yard victory paid $11.40 for the win. The son of The Louisiana Cartel clocked a 96 speed index in 17.020 seconds.

Trained by Jose Barron, Access Granted has two wins from four starts and the $46,050 winner's share of the purse increased his lifetime earnings to $52,088.

Barron Racing and Empire Racing purchased Access Granted for $28,000 from breeder Grant Farms LLC in last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The Louisiana-bred gelding is out of the First Moonflash mare Avionix, who is a half-sister to leading sire Favorite Cartel. Access Granted is from the female family of world champion Whosleavingwho.

Trainer Chris Gandarilla saddled runner-up Unbridled Favor for owner Celene's Racing LLC, who purchased him for $10,000 in the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. The son of Secret Circle has yet to break his maiden with earnings of $18,839 from six starts.

Bobby Simmons bred Unbridled Favor in New Mexico out of Jess A Cartel by Corona Cartel.

Jose Barron also conditions post-time favorite Glittr Factory. The daughter of Flare For Ivory has one win from three starts, with earnings of $12,825 for owner Barron Racing. Sierra Hugo Barron bred her in Colorado out of Seis Star Glitter by Tres Seis.

Don Pepe C, Fanze Boy, Dreamming Dash, Shauda Got It, Lethal D and Interesting Walk complete the order of finish. Aj Favorite Ok, Moonin Aces R Foreva and Tell Knockout were scratched.
