OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–APRIL 4, 2025–Ten trials were held Friday night for day one of the $868,455 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Futurity [RG1]. Five of 89 juveniles vying for a spot will enter back into the 330-yard finals on April 19 at Remington Park.
With an 18 mph tailwind, Entice Me Ona Monday set the time to beat in 16.369 seconds, clocking a 103-speed index. The son of the up-and-coming first-year-sire Cyber Monday dueled her way to the finish line side by side with Flying Joy 1 and Eyem D Prince but pulled away at the wire for a 1/2 length victory.
Jockey Ramiro Garcia got the riding call aboard Entice Me Ona Monday for his official debut start. The courageous victory paid $6.60 to win on 2-1 odds.
Runner-up Flying Joy 1, piloted by Ricky Ramirez, clocked a 101 speed index in 16.459 for the second-fastest time of the night. Entice Me Ona Monday and Flying Joy 1 were the only two horses from Friday’s trials to clock a speed index over 100.
Entice Me Ona Monday seems to come by his speed naturally. He clocked the fastest time from the schooling races at Remington Park this year. His first career win earned him $8,775.
Trainer Jason Olmstead saddled Entice Me Ona Monday for owner Tejas Troubadours. Monty McNair bred the $30,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate in Oklahoma out of Grade 2 placed Enticilizeur by Make It Anywhere.
Entice Me Ona Monday is a half-brother to TQHA Sires Cup Futurity [G3] winner Enticilizeur and Black Gold 330 Futurity runner-up Heza Valiant Warrior.
Flying Joy 1, who went into this race undefeated, gave Entice Me Ona Monday a run for his money but broke her two-win streak with the second-place finish.
Flying Joy 1 won her first two starts. After winning her trial heat on March 8, the daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 returned to the Oklahoma Futurity [G2] finals for the win on March 22 at Remington Park. She has a record of 2-1-0 from three starts with $176,711 in the bank.
S. Trey Wood conditions Flying Joy 1 for owner David Rogers, who purchased her for $49,000 in the Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Cuadra Jm LLC bred the sorrel filly out of Kylee Joy by First Moonflash.
