ALBUQUERQUE, NM–SEPTEMBER 21, 2022–
KJ Wicked Wanda, a homebred daughter of Apollitical Spirit, is one of 12 2-year-olds entered back in Sunday's 400-yard, $100,000-added La Fiesta Futurity at Albuquerque Downs.

Trained by Wes Giles for owners John Lee, Kathy Lee, and Ruben Mares, KJ Wicked Wanda has earned $56,112 from four starts, and her two wins include a nose victory in the May 22, 350-yard Four Corners Futurity at SunRay Park. The filly drew post 10 and will be ridden by Adrian Ramos.

Wes Giles will also send out Dynasty Star V, a daughter of champion FDD Dynasty owned by Melvin Neugebauer and Susan Neugebauer and the fastest qualifier. A $100,000 purchase at last year's Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, the filly broke her maiden with a 1 1/2-length victory in the first of four trials on September 11.

Dynasty Star V drew post 2 and will be ridden by Cordarelton Benn.

Also on Sunday, Empire Racing's Alamo Lake drew post 7 for the 400-yard, $75,000-added La Fiesta Derby for 3-year-olds.

The fastest qualifier from three trials run September 11, Alamo Lake was a $41,000 yearling buy at last year's Los Alamitos Equine Sale. The Favorite Cartel gelding will be ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr. for trainer Ramon Mendoza.

Other contenders include Glamazon, a daughter of champion A Revenant trained by Omar Vargas for owner Cristian Leonardo Alcala. Glamazon has won two of her three starts at the current Albuquerque meet, including the 400-yard, $50,000 Balloon City Stakes for fillies and mares on August 20.

Glamazon drew post 4 and will be ridden by Alfredo Sigala.
