$68,173 Pick Six Carryover Headlines The Saturday Night Card

LOS ALAMITOS, CA–JUNE 6, 2024–It's a carryover Saturday night once again at the track of the sunsets and starts, Los Alamitos Race Course.

The nine-race program will feature a two-night carryover of $68,173 and with the new money expected to be wagered the total pool could be around $230,000.

The Los Alamitos racing office has curated a great six-race sequence beginning with the fourth event on the program. The race features a 10-horse field of juveniles, and finding the winner here is the key to a highly lucrative payout.

The top contenders in this race include Larry and Bobbie Rice's AJ Flawless, who raced second to the well-regarded Powerful Wise Lady. AJ Flawless hit the gate at the start of that race but then came flying to finish second. The race has three other runners with top-three finishes already to their name in Eagleflash Corona, J La Monarca, and Nevaeh West.

Familiar local runners Two Bills, McWherter, and Vermeer are among the speedsters that will get together at 2.5 furlong in race 5.

Juveniles take center stage for races 6,7 and 8 led by Born In The Blood and Favorite Princess, winners in their trials to the Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity, and now rivals in race 8.

In the sixth race, maiden fillies are in the spotlight with Ed Allred's Work With It, who took on some tough rivals in her debut, as one of the fillies to beat. She'll enter this race after finishing fifth when taking on winner Up To Party, who then posted the fastest qualifying time to the Ed Burke Million Futurity, and comeback winner Powerful Wise Lady and the tough Shes Salty N Sassy.

Work With It had a troubled trip but should get some class relief going into this race. Other names to watch here include Cava Jona Cash, who ran third to La Peralta in her last out, and the FDD Dynasty filly Janett Mitchell, who is making her career debut.

Race seven has Alejandra Rodriguez and Eddie Sanchez's Seperate Impact as the headliner. He crossed the wire first in his Kindergarten trial but was disqualified and placed second due to interference. Safari, who worked with Janett Mitchell, is also debuting this evening and is part of this contest.

The feature of the night is the eighth as LG Racing LLC's Born In The Blood is back after his 3/4 length win in his Kindergarten trial. The Apollitical Blood gelding was a 2-1 choice in that race and delivered with a clear win.

All six entrants in this race are winners and also feature Favorite Princess, who was moved up to first in her Kindergarten trial after the DQ of Seperate Impact. Miss Apollidash was a 1/2 length winner in her debut while Closer Still won his by a nose. Elizabeth Alexandria and Namgis Azoom complete the field.

The final race of the sequence is a $13,200 allowance for sophomore fillies with the Rice's Apollitical Suze exiting a solid allowance effort and Jerardo Herrera's One Look At Her, who flew 300 yards in :15.34 on April 14.

George Duarte, the newest addition to the stable of handicappers on the Night Lines program, had a strong night on Sunday evening with his selections finding winner after winner and a pot of gold at the end of race 9.

George's $32 Late Pick 4 suggested play on Sunday had the winning sequence for an outstanding payout of $5, 505! As the payout suggests, it was not an easy sequence. Yet, he navigated it nicely by tabbing Mask Mandate ($10.40) as one of his two selections to start off and then going four deep to find Unseemly ($14.20) in leg 2.

He went four deep in leg three but hit big with Corona Rose ($31.20) and then got his single home -  Beduinos Favorite ($9.20) - to cash for over $5,000.

George's selections are found in the Glance Pages and on page 22.
