Ed Burke Finalist Jess Send Kevin Faces New Arrival Bp Pink Venom In Sunday Feature

LOS ALAMITOS, CA–AUGUST 31, 2024–Keith Nellesen’s Jess Send Kevin, a finalist to the Grade 1 Ed Burke Million Futurity, and recent arrival BP Pink Venom, who ran second in the John Deere Oklahoma Juvenile Stakes, are among the favorites in the featured eighth race, a $12,900 allowance dash at 350 yards on Sunday at Los Alamitos.

Three allowance races for Quarter Horses will be on the card to close out the Late Pick Four.

Jess Send Kevin ran the best race of his young career in the trials to the E Burke. The gelding by Kvn Corona was quick into his stride and went to score a neck victory over Cowboy Bolt in that race.

Cowboy Bolt has since returned to qualify to the Grade 2 PCQHRA Breeders Futurity last Sunday evening. Trained by Heath Taylor, Jess Send Kevin will start from the outside post in this race.

Bill Price’s BP Pink Venom is a filly by Favorite Cartel and out of Bp Tres Seis Policy, who is a half-sister to current star and Grade 1 winner BP Cartel Policy.

BP Pink Venom won her racing debut by two lengths at Remington Park before finishing second in the John Deere Oklahoma. Monty Arrossa trains the Oklahoma-bred. Others in this race are Lethal Rock, Fire Me Twice, Apollitical Wonder, and Hot Ones.

Other top runners in action Sunday include the talented allowance winner Freddie, Jack Clifford Handicap winner Noon It Is, and the stakes-placed runners Try Harder and So Can I.
