PHOENIX, AZ–APRIL 8, 2025–Two trials to the $80,000 est. AQRA Presidents Open Spring Futurity are set to run on Wednesday, April 10th. The top ten fastest juveniles will return on May 3 at Turf Paradise for the finals.
Out of the twelve contenders, four have one official start, but two horses stand out as the only ones that have won their maiden races. Both of these horses drew inside positions, with Rue starting in trial one and Invinsible securing trial two.
Trained by David Williams, Rue broke her maiden on March 18 at Turf Paradise under jockey Noe Garcia Jr, who will return for the mount in the trials. The daughter of leading sire Flying Cowboy 123 has accrued $10,030 following her first start.
Rue is owned by J Lazy Six Racing, who purchased her from breeder Ed Smith for $60,000 at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale. She is out of the Corona Cartel mare First Caroline Rose.
Trainer Matt Fales will saddle Invinsable for owners/breeders Ralph and Carrie Fales. Luis Valenzuela received the riding call aboard the son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty after securing the win in his Maiden start on March 24 at Turf Paradise.
The trials will begin at 12:55 (PST). CLICK HERE to find out who made the finals shortly after the races are run on Wednesday, April 10.
