SHELBYVILLE, IN–JUNE 26, 2026–Saturday morning at Horseshoe Indianapolis features a 13-race card with a full day of futurity trial action, as 120 two-year-olds compete for a place in two of the state's richest juvenile finals. First post is 10:45 a.m.

The opening five races will feature the Gordon Mobley Futurity Trials, with 44 Indiana-bred juveniles going 350 yards in five trial heats. The 10 fastest qualifiers will advance to the $150,000 Gordon Mobley Futurity Final on July 18.

Malibu Kenn headlines the second trial as the 8-5 morning-line favorite. The gelding made an impressive debut on June 10, going gate-to-wire against maiden company and drawing away to win by 1 1/2 lengths. That effort established him as one of the leading contenders heading into Saturday's trials.

Owned by Lisa Cunningham and Pamela Brickley Hann, Malibu Kenn is by Escondido Beach and out of the Shazoom mare Silly Chix. Bred in Indiana by Sheri Miller, he is trained by Anthony Cunningham and will break from post four with Luz D. Martinez aboard.

Jazz Solo is the 5-2 morning-line favorite in the fourth trial after an equally impressive debut. The colt led throughout his maiden victory on May 25, pulling away to score by 1 3/4 lengths.

The Indiana-bred son of Encore is out of the Jazz Be First mare Jazz By Moonlight and was bred by Roger D. and Kimberly A. Beam. Racing for owner Francisco Javier Rodriguez, Jazz Solo is trained by Claudio Barraza and will start from post seven, with Fernando Morin in the saddle.

The final eight races shift the focus to the Heartland Futurity Trials, where 76 juveniles will compete in eight 350-yard trial heats. The 10 fastest qualifiers will return on July 18 for the $100,000-added Heartland Futurity Final.

Pretty Innocent leads the opening Heartland trial as the 5-2 morning-line favorite. The filly overcame traffic in her career debut, rallying late to win a maiden race by a nose. After a series of consistent workouts leading up to that start, she now looks to build on that performance in her first futurity trial.

Owned by Mark and Rosemary Gorney, who purchased her for $25,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale, Pretty Innocent is by Hes Innocent and out of the Corona Cartel mare, Corona Deluxe. The Louisiana-bred filly, bred by Grant Farms, LLC, is trained by Natasha Perez and will leave from post three with Alberto Ceron-Zamudio aboard.

Natasha Perez will also saddle one of the leading contenders later in the card, with Tw A Political Beach heading the sixth Heartland trial in race 11 as the 9-5 morning-line favorite. The Indiana homebred filly improved significantly after her debut. After a troubled first start, in which she was crowded and forced back before finishing fifth, she returned later in May to break her maiden in convincing fashion, drawing away to win by 1 1/2 lengths.

Owned and bred by Thomas Wylie, Tw A Political Beach is by Apollitical Jess and out of the Escondido Beach mare Wh Imastreakinbeach. She will start from post seven, with Diego Villamil Bocanegra named to ride.

With 120 juveniles competing in 13 races, every break from the gate and every fraction of a second will matter. By the end of the afternoon, the fields for the finals of both the Gordon Mobley Futurity and Heartland Futurity will be set, making Saturday one of the most important race days of the season for Indiana's youngest Quarter Horses.
