TULSA, OK–JULY 1, 2026–The Friday night card at Fair Meadows wraps up the Speedhorse Futurity trial weekend with a ten-race program highlighted by the $25,000 Belles Stakes. A field of ten fillies and mares, ages 3 and up, will line up to run 350 yards in the featured event, scheduled as race nine at approximately 9:20 p.m.

Red Iron has been installed as the 2-1 morning-line favorite and enters the stakes as one of the field's most consistent mares. The four-year-old has recorded four victories, six runner-up finishes, and two third-place finishes, earning $190,748 for owner Curt Crossland, who purchased her for $55,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale. She has competed at a high level throughout her career and will look to add another stakes victory to her résumé on Friday night.

The Texas-bred mare is sired by Flying Cowboy 123 and out of the First Down Dash mare First to Celebrate. Bred by Bobby D. Cox, Red Iron is trained by Dee Keener and will break from post three, with Roman Cruz named to ride.

Shy Kisser returns to defend her title after capturing the 2025 Belles Stakes. The seven-year-old mare has an accomplished career record with six wins, eight seconds, and six thirds, earning $264,639 for owner Leobardo Auginaga Soria. She has consistently competed against stakes company and enters Friday at 4-1 on the morning line.

The daughter of Kiss My Hocks is out of the Streakin La Jolla mare Shyann La Jolla and was bred in Oklahoma by Paul Tonderum. A $19,000 graduate of the Heritage Place Yearling Sale, Shy Kisser is trained by Hernesto Ramirez and will break from post six with Juan Arellano aboard.

Before the featured stakes, the evening opens with seven trial heats for the estimated Grade 3 $225,000 Speedhorse Futurity. Fifty-six juveniles will race 350 yards in races two through eight, and the ten fastest qualifiers will advance to the July 18 final. The combination of championship-caliber juveniles and a competitive edition of the Belles Stakes closes an exciting weekend of Quarter Horse racing at Fair Meadows.
