ALTOONA, IA–JULY 3, 2026–The Fourth of July program at Prairie Meadows features a 10-race card starting at 4:00 p.m., with the spotlight on the $263,560 Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity and the $30,000 Prairie Meadows Gold Juvenile Stakes. Both races showcase the fastest qualifiers from the June 15 trial heats, as the track's top 2-year-olds return to compete for holiday honors.

The featured fourth race is the $263,560 Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity, in which the 10 fastest qualifiers will run 350 yards at approximately 5:15 p.m.

Apollitikal Dreamer is the 8-5 morning-line favorite after posting the fastest qualifying time and winning by 1 1/2 lengths in a gate-to-wire victory. The gelding has compiled an impressive record of two wins from four starts, including the $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Stakes, and has finished on the board in each of his remaining starts. He has earned $56,584 for breeder and owner Brenda Reiswig.

The Oklahoma-bred son of Apollitical Jess is out of the Hes Relentless mare One Kool Dreamer. Jason L. Olmstead, who has four finalists in the championship, trains the gelding. Ramiro H. Garcia has the return call from the rail.

Be Iconic is the 9-2 second choice after winning his trial by three-quarters of a length. He has two victories from four career starts and finished third behind Apollitikal Dreamer in the $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Stakes. He races for Horton Racing, LLC, which purchased him for $200,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

The son of Hes Relentless, out of the Apollitical Jess mare Lynnder 16, was bred in Oklahoma by Tom Maher and Dick Tobin. John A. Stinebaugh trains the colt, who will break from post eight with Alfredo Triana Jr. aboard.

The third race on the program features the $30,000 Prairie Meadows Gold Juvenile Stakes at approximately 4:50 p.m., giving the second 10 fastest qualifiers from the trials a chance to compete over 350 yards.

Winnemuca is the 5-2 morning-line favorite as she seeks her first career victory. The filly has finished second in both of her starts and races for owner Thomas J. Scheckel, who purchased her for $40,000 at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.

The daughter of Favorite Cartel is out of the A Classic Dash mare Classic Sassy Chic and was bred in California by Steve D. Burns, DVM. Trained by William S. Harris, Winnemuca will leave from post four under jockey Cristian R. Esqueda.

While Fourth of July festivities will fill the skies after the races, the biggest celebration on the track will be the Prairie Meadows Gold Futurity and Gold Juvenile Stakes. With promising juveniles, accomplished trainers, and two competitive championship fields, the evening's featured events will offer an exciting showcase of the next generation of Quarter Horse talent.
