The 2026 LQHBA Yearling Sale, set for July 31 and August 1, highlights a busy month of important deadlines, payments, and racing events for Louisiana horsemen.

ALEXANDRIA, LA–JULY 1, 2026–July brings several important deadlines for Louisiana horsemen, beginning July 1 with Foaling Reports due at a fee of $40. Also due on July 1 are the fourth payment for the 2026 LQHBA Sale Futurity ($500), 2026 ICSI Form Part 2 and Part 3, Embryo Transfer Mare reports ($25), and Leased Mare paperwork to the LQHBA office.

Horsemen should note that beginning July 2, Foaling Reports will increase to $250 through December 31, 2026. The $500 payment for the 2026 Big Easy Futurity is also due July 2, with Delta Downs accepting payments.

The LQHBA office wishes everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July holiday on July 4. Racing fans can also enjoy the Firecracker Derby and Futurity Finals at Delta Downs that evening.

Attention will then turn to July 15, when nominations for the 2028 Louisiana Million Futurity are due with a $200 fee.

On July 17, consignors to the 2026 LQHBA Yearling Sale must have Coggins tests and health certificates on file with the LQHBA office. Coggins tests must be dated within one year of the sale date, while health certificates must be issued within 20 days of the sale.

Delta Downs will host Louisiana Showcase Night on July 11 before concluding its 2026 Quarter Horse season with Closing Night on July 18. The Fair Grounds at Delta Downs meet opens July 23.

The month concludes with one of the premier events on the Louisiana racing calendar, the 2026 LQHBA 50th Annual Yearling Sale, scheduled for July 31 and August 1.
