GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—September 7, 2026
Lone Star Park has announced a change to its pre-race examination schedule for horses shipping in to compete at the Grand Prairie racetrack.
Under the new schedule, trainers with assigned stalls on the Lone Star Park grounds will have their horses examined between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Trainers shipping horses in for that day's races who do not have assigned stalls in the stable area will have their pre-race examinations conducted from 11:00 a.m. until noon.
Lone Star Park officials emphasized that all horses shipping in to race will have their pre-race examinations conducted at the receiving barn. Veterinarians will not go to other barns to locate haul-in horses unless the trainer has notified the state veterinarians of the horse's location prior to race day.
Haul-in horses that have not entered through the stable gate by noon and whose trainers have not notified the state veterinarians will be subject to a veterinary scratch.
Officials also stressed that there will be no afternoon pre-race examinations.
Horsemen are encouraged to plan their shipping schedules accordingly to ensure horses arrive in sufficient time to complete the required examination.
For additional information, horsemen can visit the Horsemen's Information section at LoneStarPark.com, email racing@lonestarpark.com, or call (972) 237-1130 or (888) 4-RACING.
