StallioneSearch.com presents its webcast coverage of the 2026 $561,054 LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1), contested Saturday night at Delta Downs in Vinton, Louisiana.
StallioneSearch.com was on hand for this year’s edition of the restricted Grade 1 event for accredited Louisiana-bred 2-year-old Quarter Horses that remained eligible after passing through the 2025 LQHBA Yearling Sale in Kinder, Louisiana.
The 10 fastest qualifiers advanced to the 350-yard final, with the 11th- and 12th-fastest qualifiers listed as also-eligibles. Following three scratches by order of the stewards, also-eligibles Whoozthatlady and Epyphany drew into the field, leaving nine starters to contest the $561,054 final.
KJ Meduzza turned back a furious late bid from Man For Cos to capture the LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1), giving leading third-crop sire KJ Mucho Macho Man a one-two finish in the rich final.
Bred by Ruse Ranch LLC, KJ Meduzza added another major Louisiana-bred futurity victory to an already impressive juvenile campaign. The gelding previously won the $602,705 Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1), finished second in the Louisiana Bred Laddie Juvenile, and was a finalist in the Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2).
Trainer Miguel Pizana conditions KJ Meduzza, who was ridden to victory Saturday night by jockey Victor Urieta Jr. The son of KJ Mucho Macho Man went through the 2025 LQHBA Yearling Sale as a $20,000 RNA.
