Be Myy Valentine Powers Home to Win $159,740 Big Easy Futurity at Delta Downs

Be Myy Valentine finished strongly Friday night to capture the $159,740 Big Easy Futurity at Delta Downs, defeating Sleepy Chilitos by 1 1/4 lengths in the 350-yard final.

With Leonardo Rodriguez aboard, Be Myy Valentine broke sharply from the inside and never surrendered the advantage, stopping the timer in 17.513 seconds, good for a 99 speed index over a fast racing surface. The bay filly earned $81,531 for the victory.

Trainer Viviane Hill conditions Be Myy Valentine for J Lazy Six Racing. Bred in Utah by McColee Land & Livestock LLC, the daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess is out of Valiantinecandyrocks, by Valiant Hero. She was purchased for $58,000 at the 2025 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

The Big Easy Futurity marked the second career victory for Be Myy Valentine, who entered the race with a 1-3-0 record from four starts and earnings of $31,581. The winner's share increased her career earnings to $113,112 from five starts. She was previously runner-up in the Old South Futurity.

Sleepy Chilitos turned in a solid effort to finish second, 1 1/4 lengths behind the winner and a half-length in front of Gold Eye Eagle, earning $27,699 for owners Tyler Graham and Omar Paredes. Rene Hernandez rode the gelding for trainer Carlos Gabriel Castro.

Bred by Raedele Phipps, Sleepy Chilitos is a son of leading third-crop sire Chilitos from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Pyc Paint Alis Wagon. He was a $16,500 purchase at the 2025 TQHA Yearling Sale. Friday's runner-up effort increased his career record to two wins and two seconds from four starts and boosted his earnings to $39,399.

Gold Eye Eagle closed with a late rush to finish third, a half-length behind Sleepy Chilitos and a head in front of Cant Uncle. The colt picked up $16,293 for Guerras Racing Stables. Leonardo Palomo was aboard for trainer Gilberto Gonzalez.

Delfino Lozano IV bred Gold Eye Eagle, a son of multiple stakes sire Gold Heart Eagle V out of Eying Miss Perry, by Mr Jess Perry. He was a $80,000 RNA at the 2025 LQHBA Yearling Sale. The third-place finish moved his career record to one win, three seconds and two thirds from eight starts, with earnings of $30,833. Gold Eye Eagle was previously a finalist in the Louisiana Bred Laddie Juvenile Stakes.

Completing the order of finish were Cant Uncle, fourth; Mucho Man Lady, fifth; Jp Valiant Blue, sixth; Hezaspecial Lorenzo, seventh; and Ab Ms Robyn, eighth. Fallin Angels, Jp Fast Dash, Kissin What and The King Marfa were scratched.

Delta Downs will close out the season on Saturday night with a 10-race program featuring seven stakes races. The headliner is the $561,000 LQHBA Sale Futurity going as the nightcap.
