Foxy Cowgirl Captures Cash Caravan Stakes at Canterbury Park

Foxy Cowgirl scored her second consecutive stakes victory on Thursday when she captured the $25,500 Cash Caravan Stakes at Canterbury Park.

Ridden by Angel Ramirez, Foxy Cowgirl rallied late to catch defending champion Relentless Legacy, prevailing by a head while covering 440 yards in :22.053.

The 5-year-old mare is owned by Paul Luedemann, Corey Wilmes and Cole Morehead and trained by Edward Hardy. Bred by Christine Hovey, Foxy Cowgirl is sired by Flying Cowboy 123 and out of the Valiant Hero mare Foxy Millie.

Foxy Cowgirl improved her career record to 20-9-2-3 with earnings of $243,015. She entered the Cash Caravan off a victory in the North Dakota Horse Park Distaff Challenge.

During her career, Foxy Cowgirl has also won the Jim Bader Futurity, Future of Iowa Stakes, Canterbury Park Distaff Challenge (G3) and Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge (G3).

Relentless Legacy and jockey Armando Alvidrez crossed the wire second for owner Tom Maher and trainer Jason Olmstead.

Bred by Donald Friesen, the 7-year-old gelding is sired by Hes Relentless and out of the Streakin La Jolla mare Legacys A Streakin. He now has a record of 32-12-6-3 with earnings of $205,951.

Relentless Legacy entered Thursday's race off a victory in the Bob Morehouse Stakes. He also won the 2025 Cash Caravan Stakes.

Half A House finished third under Manuel Americano for owner Lorin Besser and trainer Victor Hanson.

Bred by Brian Carroll, DVM, the 3-year-old filly is a $52,000 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale graduate. She is sired by Favorite Cartel and out of the Apollitical Jess mare My Tomorrow.

Half A House has compiled a record of 15-2-0-3 with earnings of $33,580. She entered the Cash Caravan off a fifth-place finish in the Canterbury Park Derby and remains in search of her first stakes victory.

L Gallito, Thirty Four Below and Stel An Eagle completed the order of finish. Streak N Quartz was scratched.
