Miss Fancy Nancy Cruises To Alberta Bred Maturity Victory

Miss Fancy Nancy added another stakes victory to her record with a convincing two-length win in the $22,016 Alberta Bred Maturity at Century Mile on Sept. 5.

Ridden by Daniel Tavares, the 5-year-old mare covered 350 yards in :17.632 for trainer Misael Moreno. A homebred for Barry and Janice Sather, Miss Fancy Nancy earned $11,668 for the victory, boosting her career earnings to $149,677. She now has a record of 25-10-8-2.

Miss Fancy Nancy entered the Alberta Bred Maturity off a victory in the Century Mile Championship Challenge Stakes. Last season, she won the Century Downs Aged Invitational Stakes, Century Downs Cup Classic Maturity Stakes, CTM Sprint Stakes and CTM Princess Stakes. She is also a past winner of the Alberta Bred Derby.

Bred in Alberta, Miss Fancy Nancy is sired by Big Lew and out of the Favorite Cartel mare Singles Cruise.

Team Rip 109 crossed the wire second under O. Hernandez for owners Commotion Creek Contracting and WT Ranches Ltd. and trainer Buckey Stockwell.

Bred by Buckey and Beverly Stockwell, the 4-year-old gelding is sired by Pyc Fun N Fancy and out of the Favorite Cartel mare See Me Do It Too. He has a record of 10-3-2-2 with earnings of $46,532.

Team Rip 109 won the 2024 Century Mile Juvenile Challenge Stakes and has also placed third in the Old Timers Classic Stakes.

Flash Me A Corona closed late to finish third under Ricardo Moreno for owners Janet Patriquin and Ralph Danard and trainer Craig Smith. The 4-year-old gelding has earned $92,052 during his career.

Last year, he won the Alberta Bred Derby and All Canadian Derby. Flash Me A Corona is sired by Obsessed With Corona and out of the First Moonflash mare Look Back Moonflash.
