Miss Pollys Train Earns First Stakes Victory in Seedskadee Overnight Stakes

Miss Pollys Train battled through the final yards to earn her first black-type victory Sunday, defeating Bigg Judy by a neck in the $25,000 Seedskadee Overnight Stakes at Sweetwater Downs.
Ridden by Juan Pulido for trainer Josh Taylor, Miss Pollys Train completed the 350 yards in :17.825, earning an 84 speed index over a fast racing surface. A 13-mph crosswind was recorded for the race. The 3-year-old filly broke sharply, dueled through the stretch and proved best late.
The victory was worth $12,500 for owner and breeder Bill Doenz and increased Miss Pollys Train's career record to five wins, two seconds and two thirds from 12 starts with earnings of $67,261. In addition to Sunday's Seedskadee Overnight Stakes victory, she has competed in the Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity, WABRA Wyoming Bred Futurity and KC Carden Wyoming Bred Derby.
Bred in Wyoming, Miss Pollys Train is a gray daughter of world champion sire Freighttrain B from the Apollitical Jess mare Political Bedlam.
Bigg Judy rallied strongly through the final yards to finish second, a neck behind the winner and a nose in front of third-place finisher Cd Rockin Da Kas. She earned $6,250 for owner-trainer Paul Greene. Jose Juan Olivo had the riding assignment.
Bred by Dan or Kim Lapierre, Bigg Judy is a 3-year-old daughter of Junior June Bug from The Senators Holme, by Louisiana Senator. The runner-up effort increased her career earnings to $29,745 from nine starts, with three wins and two seconds.
Cd Rockin Da Kas earned $2,500 for third, finishing a nose behind Bigg Judy. The 5-year-old mare, ridden by Aram S. Martinez for owner-trainer Joe M. Davis, dueled inside during the stretch before being out finished.
Daniel J. and Carol L. Lee bred Cd Rockin Da Kas, a daughter of Cd Rockin Da Wagon from Jps Super de Lizzie, by Super de Easy. She has compiled two wins, two seconds and three thirds from 18 career starts and has earned $21,954.
Completing the field were Cd Suite Evangeline, Ud Cholula, My Dynasty, Flashy Version, Jv Toast to Victory and Pros and Conns.
Miz 307 broke awkwardly and lost her rider at the start. Stewards conducted an inquiry into the incident and determined the horse caused her own difficulties, resulting in no change to the order of finish.
