Peighntmeadiamond Rolls To Fourth Straight Win In Ontario Sires Stakes Maturity

Peighntmeadiamond extended his winning streak to four straight Sunday with a victory in the $32,751 (US) Ontario Sires Stakes Maturity at Ajax Downs.

Ridden by Brian Bell, Peighntmeadiamond overcame an eighth-place break and moved to the front before holding off Cg Mega Spy by a neck. The 4-year-old gelding covered the 330 yards in :16.814, earning a 102 speed index.

Joe Tavares trains Peighntmeadiamond for owner Richard Wincikaby, who bred the Ontario-bred gelding in partnership with Katie Browne. He is sired by Peighnt Your Fate and out of the Where's The Ring mare Swingwiththering. Peighntmeadiamond now has a record of 19-6-4-3 with earnings of $91,314. He also won the Ontario Bred Maturity earlier this season.

Cg Mega Spy finished second under Cassandra Jeschke for owner and breeder Caroline Girard and trainer Scott Reid. The 4-year-old gelding turned in a game effort, finishing a neck behind the winner in :16.858. Sired by Spy For The Senate and out of the Megas Vukefalos mare Megas Pride, Cg Mega Spy now has a record of 24-4-5-4 with earnings of $52,304. He finished third in last year's Ontario Sires Stakes Derby.

The Batmann finished third under Helen Vanek for owners John Wilson and Scott Reid, who also trains the 4-year-old gelding. The Batmann finished a head behind Cg Mega Spy in :16.874. Bred by Reid and Carly Furlonger, he is sired by Caviar And Corona and out of the Mr Jess Tex mare Elenorr. He now has a record of 22-4-5-6 with earnings of $75,312. The Batmann entered the race off a fourth-place finish in the Ontario Bred Maturity and won last year's Ontario Sires Stakes Derby.

Elvis The Famous, A Shades Of Cold, Ivy League Sugarbaby, Pretty Runaway, Sweet Kara and Niigaanii completed the order of finish.
