Lifeinthefastlanes, winner of all six of her starts during her sophomore campaign, will make her season debut in Tuesday’s 350-yard, $50,000 Open Me A Corona Stakes (RG2) for state-breds at Delta Downs.

VINTON, LA—MAY 5, 2021—Lifeinthefastlanes, a 4-year-old daughter of champion Jess Louisiana Blue and a winner of all six of her starts during her sophomore campaign, will make her season debut in Tuesday’s 350-yard, $50,000 Open Me A Corona Stakes (RG2) for state-breds at Delta Downs.

Trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr. for owners Jason Richards and Michael J. LeBlanc, Lifeinthefastlanes will be making her first start since December 19, when she scored a three-quarter length victory as the 4-5 favorite in the 400-yard, $274,000 Louisiana QHBA Breeders’ Derby (RG3) at Evangeline Downs. The mare is coming off of a 3-year-old season during which she earned $317,838 and won three stakes, including the 400-yard, $277,000 Delta Downs Derby (RG3) for Louisiana-bred sophomores.

Lifeinthefastlanes drew post 6 and will be ridden by Antonio Alberto. Her seven opponents include Jose U. Oviedo’s Jess U R Blue, a 4-year-old Jess Louisiana Blue gelding who was a finalist in last year’s 440-yard, $393,000 Texas Classic Derby (G1) at Lone Star Park. Jess U R Blue drew post 8 and will be ridden by Floriberto Maldonado for trainer Fernando Lopez.

Also on Tuesday, 62 juveniles are entered in seven 330-yard Old South Futurity trials. Konstellation, a gray daughter of Moonin The Eagle trained by Adrian Huitron for owners Reynold Munoz and Heavy Hitters Racing Stables, ships in from Remington Park, where the filly ran sixth in the 300-yard, $50,000 Oklahoma Juvenile Stakes on March 2200. A $15,000 buy at last year’s TQHA Yearling Sale, Konstellation drew post 4 and will be ridden by Nestor Duran in the second heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the June 1, $25,000-added Old South Futurity final.
