BRYAN, TX—APRIL 28, 2012—Stakes winner and Grade 3 placed Boknaai sired his first stakes winner Saturday when Bok Man won the $22,500 Red Cell Texas Distance Challenge at Sam Houston Race Park.

Racing for Cynthia Jerman and trained by Jerry Jerman, Bok Man completed the 870 yards in :45.791 seconds, winning by a half-length. The win earned him an invite to the $125,000 Red Cell Distance Challenge Championship on October 27 at Prairie Meadows. The 4-year-old is out of One Fine Devon, a Thoroughbred daughter of Devon Lane.

From a limited number of starters, Boknaai has sired nine winners, 1 stakes winner and earners of more than $125,000. Among his get are Bok Man SI 97 ($31,025 to 4, 2012), Bambam Boknaai SI 97 ($14,719 to 4, 2012), All Night Buzz ($14,132), Dog Hill Express ($13,420 to 3, 2012), etc.

Owned and raced by John Boegner, the son of leading sire Mr Jess Perry won or placed in 15 of 29 career starts, earning $177,575. He won the Lovington Handicap, Corona Cartel Stakes, was second in the All American Overnite Stakes and third in the New Mexico Juvenile Championship, Zia Park QH Championship and Galobar Stakes. Boknaai was also a finalist in the Ruidoso Futurity(G1), Ruidoso Derby(G1), Mano Downs Futurity(G2), Longhorn Derby(G2), James Isaac Hobs Stakes(G2), All American Juvenile Invitational(G3), Higheasterjet Handicap(G3) and Mr Jet Moore Stakes(G3).
