SHAKOPEE, MN—JUNE 9, 2017—A total of 56 juveniles has been entered in Sunday’s 350-yard Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity trials at Canterbury Park.
First Of 15, a sorrel daughter of Apollitical Jess racing for Richard L. Tobin, is coming off of a Remington Park spring campaign during which she won two races, including a Remington Park Futurity (RG2) on April 7. The filly has earned $22,178 from four outs.
First Of 15 drew post 8 and will be ridden by Brayan Velazquez for trainer Jason Olmstead in the fourth of six trials.
Webb Ranch’s High Valley Girl, a $30,000 buy at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City, drew post 10 and will be ridden by Jose Vega for trainer Charlton Hunt in the sixth heat. A sorrel daughter of Valiant Hero, the filly has banked $6,386 from three outs and qualified to the 330-yard, $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Invitational Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-breds on April 23.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the July 2 Mystic Lakes Northlands Futurity final, which will offer a stakes-record $167,000 purse.
