Full Field Of 10 Ready For Tonight’s Independence Day Handicap

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—JULY 1, 2017—Headed by four recent local stakes winners, a full field of 10 Quarter Horses will be in action in a tremendous running of the Grade 3 $25,000 Independence Day Handicap on Saturday at Los Alamitos.

The field will be headed by George and Judy Weldon’s Lotta Dynasty, the winner of last year’s Independence Day at 15-1 odds.

Blessed with tremendous quickness, Lotta Dynasty won the 300-yard stakes by a head and since then has won four allowances each at 100-yard distance. Guillermo Suarez will pilot The FDD Dynasty gelding for trainer Jose Flores.

The other three stakes winners in the field are Southern California Derby winner Uno Corona Mas, Ed Allred’s multiple stakes winning filly Nymph, and Luciano Martinez’s Remarkableyesapoweer, the winner of the 2016 Cypress Handicap.

This strong field will also feature Carolyn and Ralph Fales’ Heat Warning, a finalist to the Champion of Champions last season, and El Primero Del Ano Derby runner-up That Rico.

Recent allowance winner De Moss, Go Black Benny, Boylike and El Remalcable will also race.
