MALAD, ID—AUGUST 3, 2017—A total of 29 2-year-olds, headed by Dan Moon’s Super Starr, has been entered in Saturday’s 300-yard Oneida County Fair Futurity trials.
A homebred son of Hadtobenuts trained by David Greene, Super Starr has earned $12,718 from six starts in Idaho and Montana, and his two wins include a one-length score in the 350-yard, $19,000 Idaho Cup Futurity (R) at Sandy Downs on July 22.
The brown gelding also ran second, a neck behind winner Juno Jess, in the 350-yard, $17,000 Roche Equine Futurity at the Jerome County Fair on June 18, and he was a finalist in the May 21, $26,000 Bucking Horse Futurity at Miles City, Montana.
Super Starr drew post 2 and will be ridden by Juan Ramirez in the fourth of six trials.
The fastest qualifiers will meet in the $30,000-est. Oneida County Fair Futurity final on August 13.
